About Islam
What Is Islam?
Islam is a monotheistic faith that teaches belief in one God and encourages a life of compassion, justice, and moral responsibility. Muslims believe that God has guided humanity through prophets and revelations, with Islam continuing the same message taught by earlier prophets such as Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all).
The Five Pillars of Islam
The Five Pillars of Islam are the core acts of worship that shape a Muslim’s faith and daily life: faith in one God, daily prayer, giving to charity, fasting during Ramadan, and performing the pilgrimage to Makkah if able.
Core Beliefs and Practices
Muslims believe in one God, His messengers, holy scriptures, angels, personal accountability, and life after death. These beliefs are reflected in daily practices such as prayer, ethical conduct, charity, and community responsibility.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in Makkah in the 6th century and is regarded by Muslims as the final prophet of Islam. His life and teachings emphasised honesty, compassion, justice, and devotion to God.
The Quran
The Quran is the holy book of Islam and is believed by Muslims to be the word of God revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It serves as a source of spiritual guidance, moral values, and principles for personal and social conduct.
